(Symposiumon Asteroids and comet Gravity and Interiors, SAGI2018)将于2018年12月17-19日在武汉召开。

SAGI 2018 Call For Papers

Welcome to the International Symposium on Asteroids and comets Gravity and Interiors!

The international SAGI (Symposium on Asteroids and comets Gravity and Interiors) will be held on December 17-19, 2018, Wuhan, by the State Key Laboratory of Information Engineering in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing(LIESMARS) of Wuhan University and the Planetary Science Institute (PSI), of the China University of Geoscience at Wuhan.

Asteroids and comets are leftovers from the formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago. Shattered remnants of accreted planetesimals, or even made of never heated pristine materials, they contain important clues about the early years of our solar system and the origin of water and life on Earth.Their study is now among the hottest topics of deep space exploration. The Rosetta spacecraft built by European Space Agency (ESA) finished its mission on 2016.The OSIRIS-REx mission operated by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was launched on 2016 to study the asteroid 101955 Bennu,a carbonaceous asteroid, and return a sample to Earth on 2023. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched Hayabusa 2 mission on 2014, which reached near-Earth asteroid 162173 Ryugu on 2018 and will also return a sample to Earthin 2020. A Chinese asteroid mission has also been put on the agenda, and several targets have been preliminary selected.

At SAGI, we will concentrate on topics dealing with precision orbit determination of the solar system asteroid probes, asteroid orbit determination (ephemeris), asteroid gravity field, internal structures and geology evolution. New results from recent missions will be presented, and innovative applications and international cooperation on future asteroid missions will be discussed.

Topics

  1. Progress on recent asteroid exploration missions
  2. Payload design and application for new asteroid missions
  3. Asteroids gravity field: modeling and optimization
  4. Orbit design and orbit optimization of asteroid probes and precise orbit determination
  5. Asteroids internal structure and its evolution
