解析：有古文引用的句子，要进行两次翻译才行。一次是将古文译成现代汉语，然后再将整个中文译成英文。“隔海相望、一衣带水”应该是一个意思。“一衣带水”出自《南史·陈纪下》：“隋文帝谓仆射高熲曰：‘我为百姓父母，岂可限一衣带水不拯之乎？”意思是“像衣带那样窄的河流”，后用以形容虽有江河湖海相隔，但仍像隔一衣带，极其相近。“舟舶相继，商使交属”，应为“舟舶继路，商使交属”，语出《宋书》，意思是大小船舶首尾相继如同道路，商贾和使者来往十分频繁。在译成英文里，做一些意思的简化，即exchange of ships and mechants.
