You’ve got Thor, you’ve got Captain America. These guys are eating 5,000, 7,000 calories, waking up just to eat food, eating 15 meals a day. For your liver, I don’t think that’s healthy.”

Rather than build enormous size and mass, Pine wants “contiguous muscles, more natural” movement and “functionality” from his body. He fights no urge to keep up or compete.

“Before clubbell,” he says, “I was doing pretty traditional weightlifting. It was so static, so controlled. You know, bench presses…it was so stiff. I started getting into this idea of movement and it led me to Mark, whose philosophy is about moving the body in different directions. This is more functional.”

Clubbell training evolved from the millennia-old tradition of swinging weight in three dimensions compared to the much more recent lifting weight in two dimensions.

Traditionally, the Club served as a tool utilized by wrestlers, weight lifters and martial artists to improve: grip strength, mobility, and connective tissue support.

The most ancient weapon, many culturals across the planet utilized the club not just for combat, but also for restorative health and developed strength.

The Modern Clubbell

Although still widely used by martial artists, more recently, the Club has entered into the modern fitness world, benefiting people who would like to improve overall strength and longevity.

虽然现在仍然被武术家广泛使用,但是近来棒铃已经进入了现代健身世界,让那些想要提高整体力量和运动寿命的人受益。

The greatly-displaced center of mass of the Clubbell creates a more significant leverage challenge.  A leverage challenge creates positive neurological force production with lessened chance of  injury to connective tissue. The displaced center of mass of the Clubbell allows less actual weight of the tool while still eliciting superior force production.

由于质量中心的巨大位移,棒铃创造了一个相较于其他工具更显著的杠杆挑战。杠杆挑战产生积极的神经力,减少结缔组织损伤的机会。挥动棒铃所造成的质量中心位移允许了工具更少的实际重量,但仍然引发了优越的力量输出。

Superior Force Production

强大力量的产生

Unlike conventional weight-lifting of kettlebells, dumbbells and barbells where you must increase the weight of the implement in order to increase the force production, the Clubbell is swung. Swinging weight increases torque. Increasing torque increases force production. 

传统的壶铃、哑铃和杠铃举重使你必须增加器具的重量以增加力量的产生,然而与此不同的是棒铃是摆动的。摆动重量增加扭矩。增加扭矩会增加力的输出。

Conventional weight lifting is restricted to linear increases of force with increased weight added. Clubbell training increases exponentially: swinging them twice as fast produces four times the torque. Superior force production means superior strength conditioning in a fraction of the time and without the litany of injuries associated with compressive weight training. 

传统的举重限制了在增加重量时力的线性增加。而棒铃的训练则呈指数级增长: 摆动两倍的速度会产生四倍的扭矩。强大力量的产生意味着在很短的时间内拥有强大的力量调节能力,并且不会因为压缩重量训练而造成大量的伤害。

The shoulder is by far one of the most moveable areas of the body and as a result, one of the most fragile. Furniture design, poor posture (computers) and numerous other factors often impair shoulder mobility. This impacts negatively on other joints, including the elbow and wrist. When the ball-and-socket joint of the shoulder is made strong, aligned and mobile, other joints also benefit. The circular patterns of clubbell swinging represent the foundations upon which all other more complex shoulder movements are derived.

肩膀是目前为止身体活动范围最大的部位之一,因此也是最脆弱的部位之一。家具设计,不良的姿势(例如使用电脑)和许多其他因素经常损害肩膀的灵活性。这对其他关节有负面影响,包括肘部和手腕。当肩部的球窝关节变得结实、对齐和可移动时,其他关节也会受益。棒铃摆动的循环模式代表了所有其他更复杂的肩部运动的基础。
