Smart robot is in pilot use by the underground network of Beijing MTR for electric power inspection to help improve the operation and management quality.

近日,变电所智能巡检机器人在京港地铁试点使用,用于促进运维水平提升,保障乘客出行。

The electric power substation is the power station for the underground network. It is responsible for the electricity supply and transmission, providing electricity for trains and other equipment powered by electricity. Equipped with two mechanical arms that can rotate 360 degrees, the robot is the size of a school bag. Different types of sensors are installed on the two mechanical arms that can stretch out 1.6 meters. Wang Jiangtao, the engineer manager with the Beijing MTR, the operator of underground line 4, 14 and 16, explains:

变电所是地铁运行的“能量站”,主要负责电能的供应与传输,为列车和车站所有用电设备设施提供电能。变电所智能巡检机器人相当于一个儿童书包的大小、带有“360°旋转手臂”,两个“旋转手臂”可以伸展1.6米上面安装了不同类型的传感器京港地铁技术工程经理王江涛介绍:

One type of sensor has a high definition camera, by analyzing the pictures, the AI technology helps us identify the condition of equipment. The other type of sensor uses infrared thermal imaging to measure the temperature of equipment.

一种传感器配有高清摄像头,拍摄设备的照片,利用人工智能技术来识别设备的状态;另一种是利用红外热成像仪来判断设备的温度。

The robot can also test partial discharge inside the electric power substation with ultrasonic sensor and low voltage sensor. The data collected by the robot will be displayed on a computer-based testing platform during the inspection process. The robot was in pilot use by Beijing MTR in February. Compared to manual inspection, using the robot is more efficient and reliable. Wang Jiangtao explains:

变电所智能巡检机器人还可以利用超声波传感器和低电压传感器来检测变电所内部是否有局部放电。机器人巡检的数据会呈现在电脑端的监测平台上。据王江涛介绍,智能巡检机器人从今年2月初起在京港地铁试点使用,相比于此前的人工巡检方式,在巡检效率和可靠性方面更有保证。

The inspection used to be performed by engineers every seven days. Currently, it is carried out every three hours on a daily basis following the set procedure by the robot.

之前人工每7天巡检一次,现在智能巡检机器人每3小时可以巡检一次,这样出现问题的时候能及时发现。

According to Wang, the precision and accuracy of data identification will be further improved thanks to the self-learning ability of the robot. The overall performance of the robot is still under evaluation.

随着采集数据的丰富和完善,机器人还可以实现自主学习。未来,数据识别的精度和准确度也有望不断提高。

The robot is currently used at Majiapu depot. The evaluation period is half a year. The decision whether to implement it throughout the network or not will be made based on the comprehensive assessment of its performance.

现在我们引进了一台机器人在马家堡车辆段进行试点实验,观察期半年。我们会综合评估它到底能带来什么样的价值,再决定是不是在全线推广。
