《忽然之間》是莫文蔚的一首老歌，感情細膩、耐聽，卻不是一首情歌。

　　它是爲紀念臺灣9·21大地震而特地創作的歌曲。那次地震奪取了2378人的生命，有傷者6534人，受困人數超過12000人。

　　莫文蔚邀來作詞人李焯雄、周耀輝共同填詞創作了《忽然之間》，希望能夠通過自己的演唱，表達出地震受災者的真實心境。

　　唱片公司特別租了一間面積狹小的錄音室，莫文蔚在唱的時候臉已快接近牆壁，以刻意營造出空間上的壓迫感，讓莫文蔚能夠與地震當時被困在瓦礫堆中的人們一樣感同身受，體會他們當時爲求生存而感受到的壓迫、恐懼和無助。

　　《忽然之間》與一般的賑災歌曲不同，它沒有喊那些看似勵志實則用處不大的口號，它只用災難來臨時受災人民的那種思維來歌唱，所以十分動人。

　　這首歌的英文版本，由英國小哥肖恩Shaun-Gibson演繹，在原曲的基礎上，重新填詞，演唱加入了自己的理解，溫暖又動人。

　　肖恩小哥非常熱愛中國文化，翻唱了不少中文歌曲。
