光绪十六年(1890年)广东省造光绪元宝“七三反版 ”样币(proof)共二套十枚，英国喜敦造币厂打制，置于精美样品盒内，此套钱币图样依面值共分四种，正面中心为“光绪元宝”四字，外边环绕一圈英文，背面中间为蟠龙，上为“广东省造”，下为面值分别为“库平七钱三分”，“三钱六分五厘”，“一钱四分六厘”，“七分三厘”。和日后我国各省所铸龙详图样正面全为中文，英文在龙图这面正好相反，故钱币学家称之为“七三反版”，另有试铸机制制钱一种二枚。此样币是喜敦造币厂为广东钱局雕模铸造的全部币种，保存极好，甚为难得，存世仅见此例，极珍罕，完全未使用!
