Approach-distance that the sensor will travel immediately prior to contacting the part

Retract-distance that the sensor will travel after the part has been contacted. The set distance from the actual contact point of the sensor

Search-defines how far the coordinate measuring machine will travel while trying to contact the part before presenting an error.

Depth-distance from the centroid that points will be taken while in auto-measure mode. It is used for cylinders, circles, and lines

Clearance Surface-causes the sensor to move along a diagonal path after the last point of a feature is taken to a point at the

clearance surface setting about the first point of the next feature
