Fans have been waiting with baited breath for the next installment in the A Song Of Ice And Fire franchise.

And George R. R. Martin has given fans some much needed good news during the coronavirus pandemic, as he revealed he has been writing 'every day' since going into isolation.

The writer, 71, took to his personal blog on Tuesday to provide an update on his situation, as he gushed about 'spending more time in Westeros than in the real world' as he avidly wrote The Winds Of Winter.

Teasing his busy writing schedule on The Winds Of Winter, he added: 'Truth be told, I am spending more time in Westeros than in the real world, writing every day.

'Things are pretty grim in the Seven Kingdoms … but maybe not as grim as they may become here. I cannot help feeling as if we are all now living in a science fiction novel.
