子曰:“詩三百,一言以蔽之,曰:“思無邪。”

孔子說:“《詩經》三百篇,用一句話來概括它,就是‘思想純正’。

The Master said, If out of the three hundred Songs I had to take one phrase to cover all my teaching, I would say ‘Let there be no evil in your thoughts.’

The Master said, “In the Book of Poetry are three hundred pieces, but the design of them all may be embraced in one sentence ‘Having no depraved thoughts.’”

Confucius remarked, “The Book of Ballads, Songs and Psalms contains three hundred pieces. The moral of them all may be summed up in one sentence:’Have no evil thoughts.’”
